Vancouver city is located in the south western British Columbia in Canada. It is the major urban center of western Canada and the focus of one of the country’s most populous metropolitan regions. The city is just north of the U.S. state of Washington. It has a fine natural harbor on a superb site facing the sea and mountains. It occupies 114 square kilometers and it is considered as a metropolis because it has more than 600,000 inhabitants according to the 2016 census .
Vancouver city has an orthogonal layout the same as other cities in the world such as Barcelona, Athens, Guadalajara, etc… Vancouver focused on creating cities on liveability.

In the construction of Vancouver as a city focused on habitability, there are the following points to take into account

2-Facilitate a high quality urban design that contributes to a functional, memorable and safe city.

Vancouverism combines a deep respect for nature with an enthusiasm for busy, active streets as well as dynamic urban life.
Vancouverism means tall, skinny towers for density, separated by low-rise buildings, for light, air, and views.
Many parks, pedestrian streets and public spaces, combined in one place to achieve a sustainable form of transit.
Vancouver plan
The Vancouver Plan is a visionary long-term land use plan to create a more livable, affordable and sustainable city for all. Intentionally growing the city, clarifying where growth and change will occur over the next 30 years.
The Vancouver Plan calls for adding more housing options in complete and connected neighborhoods, addressing the climate crisis, and supporting businesses of all sizes.
Authority to regulate land use
The industrial center of Vancouver is located in the outskirts of the city. The biggest industrial center name is Richmond Center.
Richmond Industrial Centre is the largest business park campus in the history of Metro Vancouver, providing over 2.8 million square feet of leasable space in a new 170-acre industrial estate. The company focuses on providing development, design and architecture services.Their biggest building occupies 200,000 sq.ft. building was delivered on time and on budget.
The business center of Vancouver is located roughly along Burrard and West Georgia Streets on the Downtown Peninsula, the Financial District contains more than 60% of Greater Vancouver's office space, and is home to headquarters of forest products and mining companies.
The city's financial district emerged in the early 1900s when the building boom in the area began. From 1907 to 1913 a number of office buildings were built in the area along West Hastings Street.
